Dear Parents,

Please see the following reminders:

Mardi Gras tickets - We will have tickets available at the school tomorrow until 3:00. BB&T will have them tomorrow until 4:00 and Tracie Kerper will also have them tomorrow at the City Meeting Center from 10 to 3 PM (while they are decorating). If you do not purchase a ticket by then, you will need to buy them at the door and the cost per ticket will be an additional $20. We will also have 50/50 tickets (for $20 each) available at the school thru tomorrow. You may also purchase those tickets at the Gala. You do not have to be present to win.
Silent Auction Baskets - We will take items for baskets until about 10 AM tomorrow. Noreen Pettitt will be stopping by to pick them up at that time. Some baskets have more items than others, so you are welcome to send items for those less fortunate baskets in place of your assigned items. The "School Spirit Basket" is in need and we could still use some gift cards.
Zoghby's - Will be at the school on February 29th from 2 to 6 and March 1st from 8 to 12.
Little Cardinals Basketball (grades 2-6) - This Saturday will be the last practice/game for them. The schedule will be the same.
"The Varsity Show" - Our Varsity Volleyball Team will be sponsoring a lip sync Contest on March 3rd at 7 PM @ Sacred Heart Gym. Admission will be $5 per person and all proceeds will help the girls with summer camp expenses.

Dear Parents,

Please see the following information concerning our annual Mardi Gras Gala:

"Art Show" Preview - Please see the attached flyer for more information on the preview.
Silent Auction Baskets - We are still in need of items for the baskets. They are located in the Conference Room and you are welcome to take a look to see what items are still needed. They will not be moved until next Thursday. Please see the attached list of items that have been designated for various grade levels.
YMCA Mardi Gras Lock-In - See the attached flyer from the YMCA.
Mardi Gras Tickets - Are still available in the front office. You may also purchase tickets for the 50/50 cash prize "Shopping Spree". Gala tickets are $50 per person and 50/50 tickets are $20 each.

Please see the following reminders:

2011-2012 Student Directories - Thanks to the hard work of our PTO, you will be receiving your student directory this week. They have issued one per family and it will be sent home with your youngest student.
No School/ President's Day - We will not have school on Monday, February 20th. This will be a Religious In-Service for our faculty and staff.
2012-2013 Registration - We will be sending out new registration forms/ tuition worksheets at the end of this week. We will open registration to our current students and siblings on February 21st. We will open registration to the public on March 4th (at our annual Open House). As noted on the registration form, you may pay 1/2 of your fee in order to secure placement, and pay the remainder by May 31st without paying a penalty.
Zoghby's Uniforms - Will be at the school on Wednesday, February 29th from 2-6 PM and Thursday, March 1st from 8-12 PM. They will also be coming in April on the 25th & 26th.
Sub-Regional Basketball Playoffs - Our Lady Cardinals will be playing tomorrow at Ragland High School @ 6 PM. The Varsity Boys team will be playing this Friday at Sacred Heart Gym @ 6 PM.

Please see the following reminders:

YMCA/ Mardi Gras Lock-in - flyer from the YMCA.
Tech Fair - See the attached Registration form. The registration forms and fees are due by Wednesday, February 15th. The fee is $15 per person competing AND for their chaperone and form will need to be completed for both the participant and their chaperone. This will cover the fee for the judges, lunch (for each registered person), and awards for the competition. Each person will need a chaperone to attend the day of the fair because a sponsor will have to stay with the projects at all times and be available to the judges. Please contact me with any questions and check the blog at http://shcnews.blogspot.com/p/tech-fair-info.html and the wikipage at http://shslab.wikispaces.com/Tech+Fair for more information and downloads. Note – the fee and the forms will be submitted at the last minute in case a student backs out of the competition. If they back out after the submission date, JSU will not be able to return the funds because judges will be scheduled for your child’s project and everything reserved.
Science Discovery Camp (Students entering grades 3-6) & Math Skills Camp (Students entering grades 3-5)- You should have received a flyer explaining both camps. There are still spots available and if you did not receive a form, just let me know and we will get one to you.
Face Painting - Senior Beta Club will be celebrating Valentine's Day with face painting. They will be painting tomorrow and the cost will be 50 cents for each painting.

Dear Parents,

Please see the following reminders:

"Testing" Email - All of you should have received a "testing" message last night. If you did not, please send me a quick email so that I can make sure that I entered your address correctly on our Sitemail.
Speeding/ Morton Rd - We have had some local residents complaining about vehicles speeding on Morton Rd (and around school area). Please abide by the 25 mph speed limit and if you have children that are driving - please make them aware also.
Who's Who (Grades 7-12) - If your child was nominated for Who's Who, they received a nomination slip today. The winners will be announced this Friday @ 1:30 in the Fine Arts Room. Parents are invited to attend and nominees are allowed to "Dress up not down" - Boys: dress shirt, tie and khakis/dress pants Girls: skirt and blouse or a dress.
Bake Sale - Our girls basketball team will have a bake sale this Thursday and Friday. All items are 50 cents.
Mardi Gras Gala - Gala tickets are available in the school office and at BB&T bank in Anniston. We also have "Reverse Raffle" tickets for sale in the office. They are $20 each for a chance to win a 50/50 shopping spree.

Co-ed Basketball (grades 2-6) - Will practice again this Saturday at the new gym from 8 AM to 11 AM. I will have the concession stand open to sell drinks.
Mardi Gras/ Auction baskets - Please see the attached letter from Noreen Pettitt that contains information on the baskets for the Silent Auction. * (Attached letter will be the following post!)
Cardinal Tattoos - 5th grade will be selling tattoos for $1 every Friday before school. All proceeds will go to the Center Of Concern.
Pom- Poms - Varsity Cheerleaders will be selling pom-poms in the office and at all games for $3.

IT’S MARDI GRASTIME!!

Our Mardi Gras fundraiser is fast approaching. It will beheld on February 25^th. As in past years, we are soliciting donationsfrom parents for our silent auction and baskets.

Our “Class Baskets” for the silent auction this year will bea little different from past years. We are only going to have four baskets thisyear, but they are going to be HUGE! We are combining classes to have biggerbaskets. Please donate items according to your child’s grade. The basket themesare as follows:

K3, K4, Kindergarten,1^st grade - Gardening basket

This basket could use any item associated with workingoutside or in the garden. Some suggestions: small yard tools, seeds, giftcertificate to Lowes, birdhouses, wind chimes, flower pots, flower bulbs, etc.

2^nd grade,3^rd grade, 4^th grade - Italian Night basket

This basket could include things for cooking/serving a greatItalian meal. Some suggestions: cookbook, wine openers, spices, tableware,aprons, gift certificate to Olive Garden, pasta and sauces, pasta server,bowls, etc.

5^th grade,6^th grade, 7^th grade, 8^th grade - SchoolSpirit basket

This basket could include things associated with SacredHeart Cardinals. There are several items available in the Cardinal’s Nestincluding blankets, stadium seats, pullovers and cups for sale. You could alsoget items in our school colors such as Tervis tumblers or tote bags, giftcertificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods, hair bows, etc.

9^th,grade, 10^th grade, 11^th grade, 12^th grade -Gift Card basket

This basket will be a huge selection of gift cards. Youcould send in a gift card for anything (gas, food, department store, groceries,etc) or you could send some cash to the school and we will purchase gift cardsfor you from our scrip inventory.

Donated items for K-3 through 8^th grade will goto their homeroom teacher. For grades 9^th - 12^th, pleasesend your gift card(s) or cash to Natalie in the office. Thank you in advancefor your donation! If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at ***-***-**** (contact main office for number).

Also, I am still in need of items to be donated for thesilent auction. If you or your place of business would like to donate, pleaselet me know and I will arrange to pick up the items! I can give you a receiptif you need one for tax purposes.

Dear Parents,

Please see the following reminders:

Dependent Childcare/ Tuition Tax Forms - I am in the process of preparing Tuition statements for students in K-3 thru K-5 for 2011 and I will also be preparing forms for Afterschool Care for 2011. Each amount will be listed per child (if you have a statement for tuition and afterschool - they will be separate). If your child attends Aftercare on a regular basis, I will leave yours with Mrs. Petry, if not, I will send them by mail. Please give me a call if you have any questions.
Girls Youth Cheer Camp (Grades K5 - 6th) - Forms and $40 are due January 17th. Camp is January 23rd - 27th with a performance at halftime of the Jan 27th game vs. Ohatchee
Pompoms - Varsity Cheerleaders will begin selling Pompoms tomorrow. The cost is $3 and they will be sold before school, during break and at the basketball games. Students may also purchase them in the front office.
Co-Ed Basketball (Grades 2nd - 6th) - Will meet and practice this Saturday, January 14th from 8 AM till 11 AM. Players will need to bring a water bottle, and wear practice clothing (shorts & t-shirts) as well as tennis shoes.
Calhoun County Basketball Tournament - Will be on Monday, January 16th at the JSU Pete Matthews Coliseum. The Varsity Boys will play @ 12 Noon and Varsity Girls will play @ 7:30 PM.
No School - This Monday, January 16th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Mardi Gras Gala - Will be on February 25th. We will have tickets for the event available in the front office and you will be receiving more information by mail early next week that will have information regarding corporate sponsors and reserved seating for the event. I will also be including updates and attachments for Silent Auction Baskets/ donations in the next couple weeks.

Report Cards - Will go home today. Please sign and return tomorrow.
Etiquette Class for Children (Grades 3 -7) - Classes start next week at SHS on Wed, Jan 11, from 3 - 4:30, for a total of 5 classes. Classes will commence with a four course dinner at Classic on Noble. Please contact Millie Chastain with The Protocol School of Alabama if interested. www.protocolschoolofalabama.com
Co-Ed Basketball (Grades 2-6 only) - If your child will be participating in the Co-Ed program, please be at our Gym @ 8 AM on January 14th. They need to bring gym shoes and wear practice clothing. There will be no fee for participation however, we will also be talking to parents on that day about helping with coaching, officiating, concession stand etc. The first couples weeks will be for practice and team selections. We will give you more information on that day.
"BCS Day" - The SGA will be sponsoring a spirit day on Monday, January 9th. Students may pay $1 and support their team by wearing an Alabama shirt or LSU shirt (Mr. Maniscalco also said that those who do not support Alabama may wear Auburn shirts. Remember, No Blue Jeans - uniform bottoms only.
Box Tops For Education - We would like to thank all of you who take time to send in box tops. The school earned $325.60 for our last submission.

Canned Food Drive & Shoeboxes for Guatemala - Thanks to all of you who have helped to make Christmas special for many families this year!!!!!
Co-ed Basketball (Grades 2-6) - Will be open to Sacred Heart School students and Sacred Heart Church parishioners. They will begin on Saturday, January 14th and will end on February 29th. I will send more information after Christmas break.
Etiquette Class for Children (Grades 3-7) - Join Millie Chastain, with the Alabama School of Protocol, for 5 fun filled classes on social and dining skills. The final class includes a four course dinner at Classic on Noble. Classes will be held at Sacred Heart School from 3 - 4:30, starting Jan. 11. Canned Food Drive - Will continue through Tuesday, December 20th. We will deliver it to Sister Jane at the Center Of Concern on Tuesday after dismissal.
Shoe Boxes for Guatemala - Please send your shoeboxes by Tuesday also. Students and teachers will be bringing those to the Fine Arts room before Mass @ 10 AM.
Early Dismissal - We will dismiss school at 11:00 on Tuesday, Dec 20th. We will not be serving lunch that day and there will be no aftercare.
2nd Semester Begins - We will return to school on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Report Cards - Will go home on Thursday, January 5th.

Santa Picture Proofs - The deadline to turn in proofs is tomorrow.
Identi-Kids - Will be tomorrow. We do not have extra forms but they will have some when they come.
Canned Food Drive - Please remember to send in canned food items before Christmas break.
Shoe Boxes for Guatemala - If you have any questions concerning the Shoe Box program - just let me know and I'll forward your questions to Ms. Humphries (Our Kindergarten teacher)
Semester Exams (Grades 9-12) - Students who have not turned in signed forms will not be permitted to leave school after taking exams. If you have misplaced your form, they are available on the new school website.

Just a few reminders from 12/2...

Canned Food Drive - Please help the Center Of Concern to provide food to families during this holiday season. You may send all canned food and dry goods to school with students and we will place them under the Christmas tree. We will deliver all food to the Center on the last day of school before Christmas break.
SHS Cardinal Tattoos - our 5th grade class has organized a fundraiser for the Center Of Concern as a class project. They will be selling SHS Cardinal temporary tattoos. They will sell the tattoos every Friday morning for the rest of the school year. Each tattoo will cost $1.00 and ALL proceeds will go to the Center Of Concern.
PTO Directory Form - If you do not wish to have your information in the directory, please sign the form and send back. Also, we would like to have those turned in by next Friday, December 9th so that our PTO can work on these during Christmas break.
Identi Kid - Will be at the school on next Friday, December 9th. They should be sending some forms for you to fill out if you are interested in having identification cards made for your child.
