Reminders for 5/11

Dear Parents,
Please see the following reminders:
  • Teacher Appreciation Week - On behalf of the Sacred Heart Faculty & Staff, I would like to thank everyone who was a part of making this past week very special. The food was great and plentiful, the Grab Bags were very appreciated and the parents that made time to help set up and clean up were wonderful. We are very blessed!
  • Dance Classes - Mrs. Chapman asked me to let you know that most dance classes are now full. There are a couple of spots in a multi-age jazz class, and there are a couple of spots in a beginner 4th grade and up ballet class. There will be a waiting list started for all classes that are full. If you would like to be on the waiting list for an available spot, please contact Mrs. Chapman as soon as possible @ 256-453-2811.
  • 11th Grade Parents/Students - Mr. Hill will be having a meeting concerning the Graduation Reception that is hosted by the Junior Class on Wednesday, May 16th @ 3 PM.
  • The PTO would like to inform you about several ways you can raise money for our school, without buying or spending anything extra!

    A message from the PTO:

    Boxtops for Education
If you look closely, you may notice these tiny labels on many grocery and paper items that you regularly purchase (like Cheerios, Kleenex, Ziploc, Betty Crocker, etc.) Simply clip them and turn them in to the school. Ask your extended family to clip them, too! This year we expect to earn almost $500, but we know we could earn more! A complete list of items that are included in the BTFE program, and coupons can be found at: http://www.boxtops4education.com

As an added incentive to collect over the summer, the PTO will provide an ice cream party at the beginning of the school year for the class that collects the most labels over the summer. Following the contest, we will also be placing new boxes to collect boxtops at the school and at the church.

    Target Red Card
Target provides a debit card that links to your existing checking account for Target purchases. You receive 5% off your purchase, and the school receives 1%. As of the most recent distribution in August 2011, Sacred Heart School had received $1460 from this program. Visit your local Target for an application or online at https://redcard.target.com/redcard/rc_main.jsp Please note that we are listed as Sacred Heart School, Ft. McClellan, AL 36205, School ID 2329.

    Gift Cards (SCRIP)
As you probably already know, the school participates in a program where we received a percentage (varying from 1.5-14% based on the vendor) when you purchase gift cards through the office. Stock up now for your summer grocery, gasoline, and gift-giving needs! An order form can be found at http://www.sacredheartcardinals.org/documents/scrip.pdf. Natalie has many cards in-stock, and orders placed by May 15th will be received by the end of the school year. Orders can also be placed during the summer. The school office is open Monday through Thursday, 8am to 4pm, and orders placed on Monday will be received by Thursday of the same week.

Thank you for your continued support of Sacred Heart School.
    Have a great weekend, Natalie

Reminders from 2/13

Dear Parents,
Please see the following reminders:
  • YMCA/ Mardi Gras Lock-in - flyer from the YMCA.
  • Tech Fair - See the attached Registration form. The registration forms and fees are due by Wednesday, February 15th. The fee is $15 per person competing AND for their chaperone and form will need to be completed for both the participant and their chaperone. This will cover the fee for the judges, lunch (for each registered person), and awards for the competition. Each person will need a chaperone to attend the day of the fair because a sponsor will have to stay with the projects at all times and be available to the judges. Please contact me with any questions and check the blog at http://shcnews.blogspot.com/p/tech-fair-info.html and the wikipage at http://shslab.wikispaces.com/Tech+Fair for more information and downloads. Note – the fee and the forms will be submitted at the last minute in case a student backs out of the competition. If they back out after the submission date, JSU will not be able to return the funds because judges will be scheduled for your child’s project and everything reserved.
  • Science Discovery Camp (Students entering grades 3-6) & Math Skills Camp (Students entering grades 3-5)- You should have received a flyer explaining both camps. There are still spots available and if you did not receive a form, just let me know and we will get one to you.
  • Face Painting - Senior Beta Club will be celebrating Valentine's Day with face painting. They will be painting tomorrow and the cost will be 50 cents for each painting.
Have a great day,
Natalie
